One Man's Trash...

Today we took a trip to a local architectural salvage place to find a couple of window sashes to go in the hole in the wall in our dining room that used to be a window. It's the kind of trip that Trent usually makes on his own, but, on this rainy day, the girls and I decided to tag along. As you can imagine, your local "oldest supplier of architectural salvage" isn't the most child-friendly place in town, but the girls and I decided to search out something salvageable for a craft. Just when I thought we would be going home empty-handed, we happened upon the tile section, and found a white bucket full of small, colorful tiles from old bathroom floors. The girls loved digging through the bucket to find their own tiles to take home, and we left with $6 worth of tiles. We cleaned them when we got home, and Trent cut and primed a board to glue them to, and it turned out to be a fabulous rainy day craft. As Sallie said when she finished hers and held it up for me to admire, "This says, 'Ta da! Ta da! Ta daaaaah!'"

“To be able to find joy in another’s joy: that is the secret of happiness.”

—Georges Bernanos
