Before my spirit falls again...

Due to our impromptu painting project, our Christmas tree was a week-long project this year. We went to our old Christmas tree lot last Saturday night, and, as Clark Griswold would say, "embraced the frosty majesty of the winter landscape [to] select that most important of Christmas symbols." It happened to be snowing (it doesn't get much better than that, does it?)

It took me a couple of days to put the lights on, and then we let the girls put a couple of ornaments on each night (which actually worked out quite well--maybe it'll become a tradition) until this weekend, when we finished decking the halls.

I was happily surprised by how great our tree looked after allowing the girls to hang most of the ornaments (despite my only moving those that were about to fall off of the end of a branch).

Haul out the holly...Rosalind Russell would be proud.
