Family Reading Night

Tonight was Family Reading Night at Sallie's school. The kids got to dress up as their favorite literary character (which was, of course, the best part) and partake in several activities geared toward encouraging kids to read.

And, great news...the dress that Sallie chose off of the 60% off rack at Kohl's over three years ago really came in handy. (Not that she hasn't already gotten her money's worth-- wearing it on the first day of school, in school photos, etc!)

It was a fun but exhausting evening with Fancy Nancy, Fancy Nancy's little sister, and Dora.

This photo says "after one-and-a-half hours of putting this outfit together, I've left half of it in the car." Poor Dora's shirt has seen better days (it was Sal's when she was 2, then Eliza's, then..well, you get the idea).

ah, yes, now that looks like Fancy Nancy!

Dads can be fancy, too!
